Youth Gardening

Cultivating new generations of gardeners and earth stewards

Young gardeners
Young gardeners put transplants into a school-based garden.

With interest in sustainable agriculture and a concern for our planet's health on the rise, we believe it's more important than ever to encourage and support young gardeners. Here are some of the ways we help get kids excited about getting outside and growing everything from fruit, to flowers, to food for their communities. Logo has been engaging kids' natural curiosity and wonder, promoting joy and healthy habits, and connecting to nature through gardening since 1982. Through various funding streams, Gardener's Supply helps KidsGardening connect educators and families, provide garden grants and gardening-related curricula, and cultivate a community of practice.

The Green Thumb Challenge

The Green Thumb Challenge is a nationwide Green Education Foundation initiative and grant program, designed to help sustain exceptional youth garden projects that have impacted the lives of kids and their communities. Gardener's Supply is proud to offer support by way of funding and product donations.

Kids Club

Youth who live close to either our Williston, VT, and Lebanon, NH, garden centers, can join the Kids Club and learn about seed-starting, composting, plant care, and more. Created to foster a life-long love of gardening in children, participation in the program builds relationships and confidence, improves motor skills, teaches compassion, and so much more!
